Started Pullets for Backyard Flock Owners

Hen Sales 2025
This is our 7th year of helping backyard flock owners add one or more ladies who are fully feathered and ready to be immersed into to their flock. We are a State certified poultry facility.
Avoid chick rearing catastrophes, unanticipated roosters and biosecurity blunders by starting with started pullets.
All of our ladies hatch in December and January, meaning you'll have eggs in spring/summer. Alternatively when people wait till April to get chicks then hens won't start to lay until fall at the earliest. Reserve your flock starting in January for pickup in April on one of the hen sale days listed below and/or shop on a sale day.
Pullets range between $30 and $45 with the proceeds benefiting HAVEN’s Horse program serving
4-H kids.

Assorted Female Ducks
Arriving and Available for pre-order starting in February with an April pick up date.
Ducks can serve as excellent foragers with less damage to the garden as they dab. Hens lay eggs which are 1 1/2 to 2 times the size of a chicken egg with a waxy shell. Much like Easter Eggers, ducks may also lay colored eggs with some Cayuga's laying charcoal colored eggs.

Ducks can be kept with chickens, though added care should be taken in keeping the litter dry for the chickens and the coop accessible for the ducks.

Where are we located?
We are located 50 minutes north of the Twin Cities in Harris, MN, and about 20 minutes from North Branch and Cambridge at 45021 Bending Ave, Harris, MN 55032

We are the green house and tan barn at the end of a very windy road.
What are your biosecurity measures?
We ask that all visitors wear clothes and shoes that have not been worn around other birds.
We follow a biosecurity plan which includes footbaths and selling birds from a large display at the front of the barn to promote safety and streamline the purchase process.

You may be asked to wear booties and step into a foot bath. It is our practice to vaccinate our birds against coccidiosis and Mareks. We are a state license poultry facility.
Do we need to bring anything?
For biosecurity purposes please wear clothing and shoes that have not been worn around other birds.
Additionally, please bring a kennel or box to safely carry your new feathered friend's home in order to avoid lap chickens.

Can we reserve birds for pickup?
One can reserve one or more birds with the deposit or paying in full through our website using a credit card through the online store. Orders can be purchased in person with cash or Venmo. Pullets are sold on a first come first serve basis otherwise.
Be an early bird and purchase your birds online and we will set some aside for you.
