Boer Goats

At HAVEN Meadows Farm, we are committed to managing our pastures through sustainable practices. Goats have been added to our farm as horses are uninterested in many broader leafed plants (whose diversity improves our pasture).

Boer Goats were brought to the United States in the 1990's from New Zealand and are frequently used for meat production. Bucklings can be processed between 3 and 5 months of age when they weigh 50 lbs, as yearlings when they weighing 100 pounds and adult bucks may around 250 lbs. Does are comparatively lighter at 140 lbs, with yearlings weighing nearly half of that.

With many ethnic populations having difficulties sourcing quality, local food sources, we are excited to offer these goats.
